John Travolta Kelly Preston Married 20 Years
John Travolta Kelly Preston Married 20 Years - John Travolta, the 57 years old actor divorces Kelly Preston after 20 years of marriage. Kelly Preston (born October 13, 1962) is an American actress and former model. Preston was born Kelly Kamalelehua Smith in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Her mother, Linda was an administrator of a mental health center, and her father, who worked for an agricultural firm, drowned when Preston was three years old. Her mother married Peter Palzis, a personnel director, who subsequently adopted her; she used his name when she first began her acting career.
She has a younger maternal half-brother, Chris Palzis. As a child, she spent time living in Iraq and Australia. While living in Australia, she attended Pembroke School in Adelaide, South Australia. She later attended Punahou School and studieddrama and theater at the University of Southern California. Preston was married to actor Kevin Gage from 1985 to 1987.
She also had a relationship with George Clooney who gave her Max, a pet pig that he kept after the couple split up. She was briefly engaged to Charlie Sheen in 1990 but ended the relationship shortly after he accidentally shot her in the arm. Preston first met John Travolta in 1987 while filming The Experts.
They married in 1991. Both traveled to Paris on an Air-France Concorde for a wedding ceremony at the Hotel de Crillon (close to the Place de la Concorde), celebrated on September 5, 1991. However, a second ceremony had to be conducted because the first, performed by a French Scientology minister (both Preston and Travolta are Scientologists), was regarded as invalid.
The second ceremony took place a week later, on September 12, in Daytona Beach, Florida. They have since had three children: Jett (born April 13, 1992), Ella Bleu (born April 3, 2000) and Benjamin Hunter Kaleo (born November 23, 2010).
On January 2, 2009, their son Jett died while the family was on a holiday vacation in The Bahamas. The cause of his death was attributed to a seizure. Jett reportedly suffered from Kawasaki disease as an infant and had a history of seizures. On September 24, 2009 Travolta and Preston confirmed longstanding speculations when they testified that their son had autism and suffered regular seizures.
This revelation came during their testimony at the trial resulting from an extortion attempt related to their son's death. On January 23, 2009, three people were arrested in the Bahamas in connection with a multi-million dollar extortion plot against Travolta and Preston around the circumstances of their son's death. One of the men, Obie Wilchcombe, a member of the Bahamian Parliament and former Bahamian Minister of Tourism, was described as a "close friend" of Travolta and Preston. Two others allegedly involved were an EMT named Tarino Lightbourne and a Bahamian senator named Pleasant Bridgewater. Bridgewater was charged with abetment to extort and conspiracy to extort and resigned from the Senate as aresult of the allegations.
In May 2010 Travolta and Preston announced that she was pregnant with the couple's third child. At age 48 Preston delivered a healthy son, Benjamin Hunter Kaleo, on November 23, 2010. John Travolta was seen by the paparazzi while kissing another man on the mouth, while getting into a plane, in September 2010. Travolta’s wife, actress Kelly Preston, was shocked when she saw the photo and asked John if he is gay.

June Shannon Defends Pageant Crack Alana
June Shannon Defends Pageant Crack Alana - A pageant mother accused of 'doping' her child after giving her high-sugar snacks and caffeinated drinks before a show has defended her actions.
June Shannon, from McIntyre, Georgia, sparked widespread criticism following an appearance on Toddlers and Tiaras last month with six-year-old daughter Alana Thompson. +study shows sugary drinks linked childhood obesity,
The self-proclaimed 'Coupon Queen' had described how she boosted the youngster's energy ahead of performances with Pixy Stix - tubes of powdered sugar often known as 'pageant crack' - and 'Go-Go- Juice', a mixture of Red Bull and Mountain Dew, according to Good Morning America. Toddlers and Tiaras,
Today, she responded to the backlash in an interview with the show. mountain dew,
She said: 'There are far worse things. I could be giving her alcohol.'
Explaining that a typical event can be exhausting for the children involved, she continued: 'A pageant day can last from 7 in the morning to 6,7,8,9, 10 at night, so performing and getting a kid up that early and lasting all day without a rest, you have to energize their body.'
Ms Shannon also added that she was not alone in the practice. June Shannon defends pageant crack alana,
'Everybody does it,' she said. 'There are normal people who give their kids this, so why is it such a big issue with us pageant moms that do it all weekend to keep our kids energized and awake?'
Indeed, producers filming a Nightline special on the subject were witness to one such pageant in New York where they saw children drinking caffeinated soda and candy from as early as 7am, while a similar event in Austin, Texas, saw many contestants eating Pixy Stix. Toddlers Tiaras totally fake,
But child health experts have voiced their concern about the so-called 'Go-Go Juice', given that a single can of Mountain Dew or Red Bull contains as much caffeine as a cup of coffee.
A report last year from the American Academy of Pediatrics stated that children who have too much caffeine are at raised risk of neurological and cardiovascular problems.
Its authors warned: 'Energy drinks are never appropriate for children or adolescents. In general, caffeine-containing beverages, including soda, should be avoided.'
The Toddlers and Tiaras episode featuring Alana saw Ms Shannon tell how she created her 'Go-Go Juice' mixture after 15 bags of Pixy Stix failed to boost the youngster's energy.
Viewers were outraged as she explained the concept of 'special juice', telling producers: 'A lot of pageant moms and people know what the "special juice" is - everybody has their different concoctions...
'A lot of moms say, "Oh, well you’re doping up your child." Well hey, no I'm not. I’m not hurting her.'
Though no specific 'special juice' recipes are detailed in the episode, insiders speculate that some mothers' blends may even contain alcohol.
Ms Shannon was filmed instructing Alana to take 'two big gulps' from an unlabelled bottle. Within seconds the change was apparent and the pageant hopeful was seen rapidly swinging her arms over her head and spinning around on the floor, exclaiming: 'My go-go juice is kicking in right now!'
Describing how the drink made her feel, she said: 'Go-go juice makes me laughy, and play-ey, and makes me feel like I want to pull my mommy's hair.' Toddlers Tiaras totally fake,
It seems Alana is already a spirited child though. She has a bizarre speaking manner that is at once precocious and incoherent.
She tells cameras that she wants to win pageants to make money because 'a dollar makes me holler, honey boo boo!'
But she is not entirely enthusiastic about the experience. She continues: 'Beauty is so boring, I don't want to do it.'
Ms Shannon's enthusiasm is more than evident though. As her daughter takes to the stage, she is filmed yelling encouragement, and instructing dance moves. +study shows sugary drinks linked childhood obesity,
When she is not accompanying her daughter on the pageant circuit, Ms Shannon says she spends her time collecting money-saving coupons and stockpiling hundreds of household products - a pursuit her daughter claims she wants to follow.
Footage taken inside the family home reveals rooms stocked with hundreds of items ranging from toilet paper to rolls of aluminium foil.

Police say the man tried to grab the girl from the toy aisle. They say security video shows a man carrying the girl away, then letting her go after she fought back.
Brittney Baxter said she was looking at toys in a Walmart Wednesday when a man tried to kidnap her.
"I was kicking and screaming, and then he put his hand over my mouth, but I kept kicking," Brittney said.
Surveillance footage shows the man walking through the store. He walks out of the camera's view, but then rushes back through with the girl in his arms. When she starts kicking, he puts her down and runs away.
Bremen police arrested 25-year-old Thomas Andrew Woods. He is charged with attempted kidnapping. Other charges are pending.

"I just never would think something like that would happen in a town like this," Georgeann Baxter said.
CBS Atlanta News has learned that Woods served time in prison for a DeKalb County manslaughter conviction. He was let out of jail after serving seven years of his 20-year sentence, and was put on probation.

But despite the assertions of other "Jersey Shore" cast members, Sorrentino insists that he's not gay. In fact, The Situation is reportedly furious at his cast mates for spreading the gay rumors, as he thinks it could hurt his brand-endorsement deals

The "Jersey Shore" star has reportedly hit back at housemates Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi and Jenni "JWoww" Farley after they speculated about his sexuality and hinted he might be gay in an interview with HuffPost Gay Voices. Snooki & JWoww The Situation's Sexuality,
"Mike really ripped both Snooki and JWoww a new one," a show insider told the Chicago Sun-Times. Noting that Sorrentino is concerned such comments could hurt his brand endorsements, which are focused on straight male customers, the source added, "He's extremely upset."
In the interview, both JWoww and Snooki implied that despite his playboy reputation, Mike has questioned his own sexuality. "He brings it up," JWoww said. "He'll say, 'People think I'm gay and I don't know what they're talking about.'" Added Snooki: "He told me one time, '[All the talk is] making me wonder.'"
JWoww even compared Sorrentino to her gay best friend's husband, who was closeted for 27 years of his life. "So because of that I know...the signs," she said. The Situation Endorses Protein-Infused Vodka,
The Situation's publicist called Snooki and JWoww’s speculation “the most ridiculous statement I’ve ever heard" in response, the Sun-Times notes. Situation Sorrentino Gay Rumor Implications,
It's not the first time Sorrentino's sexuality has been questioned. Last year, former "Jersey Shore" star Angelina Pivarnick -- previously Sorrentino's love interest -- told Popeater, "I think Mike is gay. I think he's gay because of the way he talks and the way he abuses girls. He talks down to women...I honestly feel like he's in the closet right now; he doesn't want to come out.
The Situation had himself a situation -- someone was using his trademarked GTL phrase without permission -- so he had his lawyers make the copycat web site disappear.
The site in question was called MyGTLFuel.com -- which claims to "manufacture products to energize and enhance your lifestyle."
The Sitch and his brother/business partner, Marc Sorrentino, felt it came too close to their GTL trademarks -- so they had their lawyers draw up a cease and desist letter.

The letter worked and the site is down -- though a Facebook page still remains. The Sorrentino boys still want the bogus site to fork over any profits they made off the GTL trademark and are currently working towards a resolution.
June Shannon Defends Pageant Crack Alana
June Shannon Defends Pageant Crack Alana, +study shows sugary drinks linked childhood obesity- Toddlers' mom defends feeding daughter 'pageant crack'June Shannon says a little “pageant crack” can be the difference between her 6-year-old daughter Alana winning a beauty pageant or losing it . The mom, whose daughter is on the TLC show “Toddlers & Tiaras”, is defending her use of the “crack”, in an interview with Good Morning America.
A pageant mother accused of 'doping' her child after giving her high-sugar snacks and caffeinated drinks before a show has defended her actions. June Shannon, from McIntyre, Georgia, sparked widespread criticism following an appearance on Toddlers and Tiaras last month with six-year-old daughter Alana Thompson.
Today, she responded to the backlash in an interview with the show.Explaining that a typical event can be exhausting for the children involved, she continued: 'A pageant day can last from 7 in the morning to 6,7,8,9, 10 at night, so performing and getting a kid up that early and lasting all day without a rest, you have to energize their body.'
Ms Shannon also added that she was not alone in the practice.
Viewers were outraged as she explained the concept of 'special juice', telling producers: 'A lot of pageant moms and people know what the "special juice" is - everybody has their different concoctions...A lot of moms say, "Oh, well you’re doping up your child." Well hey, no I'm not. I’m not hurting her.' Though no specific 'special juice' recipes are detailed in the episode, insiders speculate that some mothers' blends may even contain alcohol.
Describing how the drink made her feel, she said: 'Go-go juice makes me laughy, and play-ey, and makes me feel like I want to pull my mommy's hair.'
It seems Alana is already a spirited child though. She has a bizarre speaking manner that is at once precocious and incoherent. She tells cameras that she wants to win pageants to make money because 'a dollar makes me holler, honey boo boo!' But she is not entirely enthusiastic about the experience. She continues: 'Beauty is so boring, I don't want to do it.'
Ms Shannon's enthusiasm is more than evident though. As her daughter takes to the stage, she is filmed yelling encouragement, and instructing dance moves.
"A dolla make me holla--Honey Boo-Boo Child," anyone? Now, pageant mommy June Shannon is under public scrutiny for allowing her daughter to partake in some activities that rubbed viewers the wrong way.
Specifically, allowing Alana to drink a concoction of caffeine-overload after another sugar-rush trick began to fail. Shannon makes Alana a self-described "Go-Go Juice" that is one part Mountain Dew and one part Red Bull. One can of each of the two drinks combined contains about the same amount of caffeine as two cups of coffee.
Alana, loves it however: "My special juice is going to help me win," Alana says in one of the show's episodes. "My Go-Go Juice is kicking in right now." As reported by ABC News, "Shannon turned to Go-Go Juice after finding that the two bags of Pixy Stixs, the powdered candy in a wrapper that resembles a drinking straw, and is known in the pageant world as 'pageant crack,' she was feeding Alana were not enough to keep her alert all day during pageant competitions.

The man who forgives is far stronger than the man who fights
The man who forgives is far stronger than the man who fights, I can forgive, but I cannot forget, is only another way of saying, I will not forgive. Forgiveness ought to be like a cancelled note - torn in two, and burned up, so that it never can be shown against one. ~Henry Ward Beecher.

Florida Man Ordered Wife on Date
Florida Man Ordered Wife on Date - Let the punishment fit the crime? A Florida man who appeared in court yesterday on a domestic violence charge was ordered by the judge to ... take his wife on a date. The charge apparently grew out of an argument Joseph Bray had with his wife—whose birthday he failed to acknowledge on Monday. According to the arrest report, Bray shoved his wife onto the couch, held her neck, and readied himself for a punch, but didn't actually hit her. At yesterday's hearing, she told Judge Jay Hurley she was neither hurt nor in fear. Because of that, and because Bray had no priors, the judge ordered what the Sun-Sentinel calls "whimsical conditions."
Hurley asked the woman what she liked to do and where she liked to eat, florida man ordered wife on date, and her answer became her hubby's punishment. "He’s going to stop by somewhere and he’s going to get some flowers, and then he’s going to go home, pick up his wife, get dressed, take her to Red Lobster," said Hurley. "And then after they have Red Lobster, they’re going to go bowling." They were also ordered to begin marriage counseling. Explained Hurley of his decision, "The court would not normally do that if the court felt there was some violence but this is very, very minor and the court felt that that was a better resolution than other alternatives."

Sanchez-vicario Owes $1.5m in Taxes
Sanchez-Vicario Owes $1.5m In Taxes - Tennis Star Arantxa Sanchez Vicario Owes $1.5m In Taxes. Tennis star Arantxa Sanchez-Vicario owes $1.5m in taxes, and in her autobiography that was published Tuesday, “Vamos! Memorias de una Vida, una Lucha y una Mujer”, she spoke of how her $60 million in earnings from her tennis career was allegedly squandered by her parents and she is now left bankrupt.
The 40-year-old Spaniard, who had won the French Open three times (1989, 1994, 1998), the U.S. Open in 1994, and was once ranked No. 1 in the world, spoke of how her father, Emilio, was in charge of managing her finances.
My father has enjoyed full authority to decide on and to manage my wealth … I was given a monthly sum the use of which I informed him about. It never occurred to me to ask him questions. I never doubted that my father would manage my assets in the most efficient and beneficial way.
They left me with nothing, I have debts with the finance ministry, and my property is much less than, for example, that of my brother Javier, who earned much less during his career than I did. Can I accept such abuse and keep quiet? I am not going to do that.
Sanchez Vicario is estranged from her parents and two brothers, Emilio and Javier, who were also former tennis players.
What did her parents have to say about Sanchez Vicario’s accusations? Her mother, Marisa, wrote an open letter to the Spanish media saying that she and her husband are stunned by their daughter’s claims. Marisa went on to say that “under no circumstances is Arantxa broke“. She added that Emilio is suffering from Alzheimer’s, intestinal cancer and has a weak heart and that Arantxa has not visited or is in the least bit concerned over her father’s condition.
The whole story is quite sad, really, but is one that is played out in the sports and celebrity world more often than not. Parents who are seemingly in charge of their child’s new found wealth, with no experience in doing so whatsoever, and unfortunately somewhere along the way, the finances are not handled correctly and the child is left with next to nothing. Who’s telling the truth here? Weigh in with your thoughts below.

IPad 3 Release Date
IPad 3 Release Date - As February ticks away, the rumors surrounding the next iPad are flowing fast and furious. Apple has the habit of pushing out its tablets in the spring, releasing the iPad 2 in March 2011 and the original model in April 2010. Here’s a general look at the rumors that are out there about the tablet — remember to take all with a healthy pinch of salt.
Release date: Conventional wisdom would say that the next iPad is coming this spring, as it has in the past. There had been rumors that Apple was planning a February event to show off a tablet — courtesy of the Japanese Apple blog Macotakara — but those were quickly squashed by The Loop’s Jim Dalrymple and, later, by the blog itself.
Most people in the speculation game seem to be leaning toward a release in March or April, based on reports from casemakers and accessory companies showing off their wares at January’s Consumer Electronics Show.
Display: The biggest expected change to the next iPad is its display. In fact, iLounge’s Jeremy Horwitz said in January that could be the only major difference.
As he wrote in January: “Think iPhone 4 to iPhone 4S: this device so resembles the iPad 2 that differences are only obvious when they’re placed next to each other. From the back, you could walk past this new iPad on display and have no idea that anything had changed.”
The display itself is supposed to have a better, clearer screen. That rumor’s been around for about six months, since This Is My Next (now The Verge) reported that Apple was planning to release a tablet with the iPhone 4S in the fall.
Lately, the rumor mill has been throwing out the possibility that the new iPad will have an IGZO (indium gallium zinc oxide) display from Sharp. The displays allow for more light to come through the screen from the backlight, which CNET reported could reduce production costs.
Thickness: Horwitz said that the iPad body is a little bit thicker — about 1 mm thicker, which could create some trouble for case makers. The camera is also supposed to be bigger, and is similar to the iPhone 4S camera, the report said.
iLounge had previously reported the possibility of a thicker iPad in November, saying that a higher-resolution display required an extra light behind the screen, adding to the iPad’s girth.
Speed: The iPad is also supposed to have an A6 chip and, according to Boy Genius Report, could have support for 4G networks. The report is based on a very shaky source — photos of a debug screen from someone claiming to have a prototype iPad. BGR said that the screenshots mention two new iPad models — which could indicate support for WiFi and cellular networks — and a quad-core chip.
4G support has been on the iPad owner’s wishlist for a while now, especially as Android tablets begin supporting the faster networks.

Josh Powell Threatened Mother
Josh Powell Threatened Mother - Josh Powell, the husband of a missing Utah woman who killed himself and his two young sons last week, was a disturbed adolescent who threatened and hit his mother, according to 1992 court documents obtained by ABC News.
The documents, filed during the divorce of Josh Powell's parents in Washington state, Steven and Terrica Powell, include several statements by Terrica Powell describing her son's disturbing behavior.
Terrica Powell wrote that her son once tried to commit suicide and also threatened her with a butcher knife. On other occasions, he and one of his brothers pushed and hit her, she wrote.
The butcher knife incident, Terrica Powell wrote, was the result of her asking her son to do the dishes.
"I felt extreme fear when Josh made a veiled threat at me with a butcher knife in his hand. His demeanor was menacing for a moment as he said, 'Don't push it, mom,'" Powell wrote. "… I was terrified and left the room to go downstairs…"
Terrica Powell has declined an interview request with ABC News.
A lawyer for Chuck and Judy Cox, the parents of Powell's missing wife, Susan Powell, echoed the allegations about the butcher knife and the suicide attempt. Lawyer Stephen Downing told "20/20" co-anchor Chris Cuomo that Josh Powell tried to kill himself by hanging.
"He was very troubled," Downing said.
Terrica Powell worried that Josh and another teenage brother could destroy their family, which included younger siblings, she wrote in a statement filed in court.
The Powell family became a subject of national interest in 2009 when Josh Powell's wife, Susan Powell, went missing.
Josh Powell was the only named person-of-interest in Susan Powell's disappearance, but he was never charged. He continually denied involvement in his wife's disappearance and later moved himself and his sons to live with his father, Steven Powell -- Terrica Powell's ex-husband -- in Washington state.
The couple's two sons were placed in the custody of Susan Powell's parents after Steven Powell was arrested on charges of voyeurism and child pornography in September 2011. Steven Powell has denied the charges.
A judge ruled earlier this month that Josh Powell could not have custody of his sons until he underwent a psycho-sexual evaluation.
Powell and his sons died in an explosion Powell ignited in his home during a supervised visit with his sons. Powell locked a social worker out of the home before the explosion.

Maryland Mall Evacuated Nike - A Maryland Mall was locked down and temporarily evacuated Saturday morning after more than 100 people became unruly while they were waiting to buy a new line of Nike shoes, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office said.
About 15 officers from the sheriff’s office, Maryland State Police and Hagerstown Police Department responded the Valley Mall after they received a call just after 8:00 in the morning that roughly 100 patrons had created a disturbance while waiting in front of the Foot Locker store for the release of the new Nike Foam sneaker, according to a sheriff’s office news release.
When officers arrived, they discovered that 100 to 150 people were involved. Maryland mall evacuated Nike,
“Apparently, a lot of people had been waiting a long time and people started butting in line,” said Washington County Sheriff Douglas Mullendore, who was among the officers responding to the scene.
Police said some of the patrons claimed they had been in line waiting to buy the shoes since 7:30 p.m. Friday.
Mullendore said that after the mall was evacuated and locked down, patrons who were waiting to buy the shoes were escorted into the store a few at a time.
He said no one was arrested because officers couldn’t identify the instigators.
“It was impossible to tell who the aggressors were,” he said. “There was just a lot of hollering and that type of thing when we got there.”
A Foot Locker employee told police that the store had 90 pairs of the shoes in stock, the release said. The employee said the shoes were sold out by 10 a.m.
The mall reopened without further incident at 10 a.m., the sheriff’s office said.

Iceland Loch Ness Monster Real or Robot
Iceland Loch Ness Monster Real or Robot - There's something undoubtedly fishy about this footage of a 'serpent-like' sea creature gliding through the waters of an Icelandic river. iceland loch ness monster real or robot,
The video, captured last week by Hjörtur Kjerúlf, shows a mysterious creature swimming through the cold water of the glacial river Jökulsá í Fljótsdal, in east Iceland. iceland loch ness monster,
And in just over a week, it has already become a monster hit on the internet.
Some are claiming this grainy footage is proof of the existence of the legendary beast Lagarfljótsormurinn - Iceland's version of Scotland's Loch Ness Monster. iceland loch ness monster real or robot,
The notorious 'snake-like' creature is said to live in the Lagarfljót lake, which is 25 miles long and 367 feet deep - and it has been the subject of many a supposed sighting since reports of it first emerged in 1345.
However, an expert on the legendary Lagarfljótsormurinn lake beast believes this footage is fake.
Loren Coleman, director of the International Cryptozoology Museum in Portland, Maine, has researched the Icelandic creature and wrote about it in his book Field Guide to Lake Monsters and Sea Serpents.
Coleman said he was concerned about the 'robotic' look of the creature featured in the video and believes it is an elaborate hoax.
On his website Cryptomundo, he wrote: 'Frankly, this video shows something that looks like a constructed snake-like object, with rigid sections, being propelled through the water.
'From the movement on the water’s surface, it would have to be something other than a mammal, like a giant worm, a reptile or a fish.
'The head appears to have been made to look like it belongs to a giant anaconda. The sections do not gracefully flow, but are sectionally moving from side-to-side. Mammals move up and down.
'It seems someone attempting this fakery, perhaps by using a robot with tarps, fish nets, or trash bags - a favorite for watery hoaxers - has decided to take the phrase 'sea serpent' and/or 'worm' too literally.'
According to Coleman, the most recent sighting of a strange creature in Lake Lagarfljót was in 1998, when a teacher and their class of pupils said they saw something close to the shore.
However, they did not describe it as having a 'worm-like' appearance.
Another reason why Coleman believes the footage to be a hoax, is because of the creature's appearance. He said the phrase 'Icelandic Worm Monster' was coined in the 21st Century and comes from a misunderstanding and mistranslation of Lagarfljótsormurinn simply as Lagarfljót worm.
This is instead of the more correct Lagarfljót Würm or Wurm - a phrase which harks back to dragon folklore.
He added: 'The traditional sightings of this lake’s 'monster' - going back to 1345 - are not 'snake-like'... Instead, they describe Lagarfljótsormurinn as having a hump, a long neck, and whiskers, more like a long-necked Waterhorse than a giant snake.'
He said because of the creature's misinterpreted adopted name, hoaxers may mistakenly create it in the shape of a snake which contradicts all other eye witness accounts.
