Lee Daniels has almost cut a controversial scene in which Nicole Kidman appears to urinate on Zac Efron from The Paperboy, because he thought he had gone too far with the shoot. Lee Daniels almost cut controversial The Paperboy scene, Nicole Kidman urinate,

The Paperboy is a film based on the 1995 novel published by American author Pete Dexter starring Matthew McConaughey, Zac Efron, John Cusack and Nicole Kidman. The film competed for the Palme d’Or at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival. Nicole Kidman No stunt pee used,

Early reactions to The Paperboy have been universally negative, with many comparing it to Shadowboxer and noting its campy nature. However, the film received a nearly ten minute standing ovation when screened with cast and crew and Nicole Kidman was considerably singled out for praise.

In June Kidman was cast in Lee Daniels’ upcoming adaptation of the Pete Dexter novel, The Paperboy and began filming the thriller on 1 August 2011.

Kidman plays a woman who is super hot for Cusack’s character, while Efron plays McConaughey’s brother, and somewhere along the way, Efron’s character gets stung by a jelly fish and Kidman urinates on him.

The big screen adaptation of Pete Dexter’s book of the same name was met with mixed reviews when the Precious filmmaker premiered the thriller at the film festival in France last week, and many reporters were turned off by the sight of the Oscar winner relieving herself on Efron to treat a jellyfish sting.

Daniels admits the scene was nearly left on the cutting room floor and it was Kidman herself who convinced him to keep it in the movie.

Daniels also reveals the scene was especially memorable for Efron: “If you could have watched Zac’s face… He’s supposed to be passed out and (while she’s peeing) he’s just got this smile on his face. I’m like, ‘Zac, pretend like you’re dead!’ And he’s just got this crazy smile on his face. The whole thing’s crazy.”

Apparently, the movie is getting panned by critics, but I think it sounds worth seeing for that scene alone.
