Honey Boo Boo Ratings - There is no stopping "Honey Boo Boo."
Honey Boo Boo Ratings - First, she conquered "Toddler and Tiaras," when she coined the phrase "Honey Boo Boo Child." Now, Alana Thompson and her family have conquered the Republican National Convention.
The ratings for TLC's increasingly popular show, "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo," skyrocketed Thursday night for the show's fourth episode, pulling in almost 3 million viewers in the 10 p.m. slot, according to Nielsen via the Hollywood Reporter.
THR went on to report that TLC's "Honey Boo Boo" topped even the RNC in the ratings:
In the demo, Honey Boo Boo did even better. The half-hour series' showing among adults 18-49 bested all other cable outings for the night -- including coverage of the Republican National Convention -- to pull a 1.3 rating.
This number was up 30 percent from last week's episode which boasted a hefty 2.3 million viewers, according to Entertainment Weekly.
Not too shabby for a self-proclaimed "redneck" family and their "Toddler and Tiaras" star daughter.
What makes the show so popular? Alana's mother, June Shannon, explained to Ryan Seacrest that she thinks viewers gravitate toward the show because her family is relatable.
"A lot of our fan base tell us that when they have a bad day they can be able to watch our show and be able to get a good laugh," she told Seacreast, according to E! News. "I actually laugh at the show too, because it is kind of funny, because we know that it was fun filming it. And it's just all about having fun and making memories. A lot of people say that they can relate to us."
As for the RNC ratings, Fox News was the go-to channel for RNC coverage, averaging 7.7 million total viewers, including 2.07 million in 25- to 54-year-old demographic on Wednesday, according to MediaBistro.
Alas, Even Fox News couldn't beat "Honey Boo Boo."
