Tom Brokaw Hospitalized Charlotte

Tom Brokaw Hospitalized Charlotte - Former "Nightly News" anchor Tom Brokaw was rushed to a North Carolina hospital on Thursday after reporting the he felt light-headed.


Following a segments of MSNBC's "Morning Joe" news, Brokaw, 72, reported that he was feeling light-headed. Brokaw was sent to North Carolina to help do coverage for the Democratic National Convention.

Brokaw was transported to the hospital via an ambulance and while reports have stated the news anchor has now been treated, details behind his condition have yet to be released. MSNBC has stated that there is little reason for concern at that the hospital trip was made out of precautionary measures. Tom Brokaw Hospitalized Charlotte,

"On the set of Morning Joe this morning, Tom Brokaw felt light-headed. Out of an abundance of caution, he was taken to a hospital and is being evaluated," an MSNBC spokesman told MediaBistro.

Brokaw retired as NBC's lead newsman in 2004 but has since served as a news correspondent. He was a prominent figure last week during the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Florida and has persisted by marking his presence this week at the DNC.

Brokaw is no rookie to covering presidential elections and also heavily covered the 2008 elections in which President Obama was first elected. Brokaw is also still an active member in the media community. He serves on the board of directors of the Council on Foreign Relations, the Committee to Protect Journalists, and the International Rescue Committee. In 2011, he began hosting "The Boys in the Hall," a Fox baseball documentary.
