Quarterback Stabbing Arrest - Police have arrested a man who is suspected of stabbing a quarterback with the University of Delaware, according to Yahoo! on May 13.A 25-year-old man, Michael Creed, reportedly got into a argument with quarterback Trevor Sasek, 22, on Sunday morning. When Sasek approached him, Creed then grabbed the quarterback by his shoulder and stabbed him in the chest and abdomen.
Creed fled the scene before he was tracked down on Monday. He was charged with first degree assault and possession of a deadly weapon.
Sasek was taken to Christiana Hospital by private vehicle and underwent surgery. Police say he is currently in stable condition.
Police identified Creed after he was allegedly caught on surveillance camera footage. According to investigators, Sasek was with a group of people Sunday around 1 a.m. in a parking lot on 54 East Delaware Avenue in Newark, Delaware. Investigators say Creed yelled something towards the group which prompted Sasek to confront him.
“University of Delaware officials have been in contact with the injured student and his family, and we wish him a speedy recovery,” said John Brennan, a school spokesman, according to DelawareOnline.com.
Sasek, of Limerick, Pa., is a fifth year senior at the University of Delaware and a quarterback on the school's football team.
