Lori Anne Madison + 6 Years Old - Lori Anne Madison 6-year-old spelling genius makes us feel dumb: When: March 2012, Who: Lori Anne Madison will be the youngest contestant ever in the Scripps National Spelling Bee after winning a regional bee vaquero.
For those of us who can't get through a work day without spellcheck, prepare to feel dumb: 6-year-old Lori Anne Madison has become the youngest person to win a place at the Scripps Howard National Spelling Bee.
And if that's not impressive enough, the word she spelled to earn her place there was "vaquero." The linguistics genius told Fox News she'd been well-prepped by her parents and is considering a degree in astrobiology.
Just to make you feel better, she hasn't always been so successful: At age 3 she lost her first spelling bee by misspelling "transcend." Feel better? No, us neither.
