Anderson Cooper To Marry Boyfriend

Anderson Cooper To Marry Boyfriend - Anderson Cooper To Marry, Weeks after Anderson Copper announced he was gay, the CNN anchor is said to be getting married to his boyfriend Ben Maisani. In fact, sources say the couple could wed as early as Labor Day.

Wednesday, the Daily Mail followed up on a story from the National Enquirer that first reported the rumors about a planned wedding with Cooper and Maisani.

Weeks after saying, "The fact is, I'm gay, always have been, always will be, and I couldn't be more happy," in a Daily Beast interview, an insider says Anderson Cooper, 45, is to marry his boyfriend, whom he has dated since 2009.

Supposedly, the wedding is to take place around the Labor Day holiday in New York, where the CNN anchor lives.

"He'd been considering breaking the news [about being gay] since same-sex marriage became legal in the state of New York last summer," the source added.

In the telling interview, Cooper shared some heartfelt views about transparency and his support of gay marriage.

"I've also been reminded recently that while as a society we are moving toward greater inclusion and equality for all people, the tide of history only advances when people make themselves fully visible."

Since Anderson Cooper has come out as gay, marrying his boyfriend is the logical next step. Now that he is liberated from outing his sexuality, officially laying a stamp on a loving relationship closes a chapter and opens another.
