Alec baldwin mayor - Alec Baldwin Says He Won't Run for Mayor of New York City
Alec Baldwin said Wednesday he doubts he will run for mayor of New York City and described the other candidates running for the office as "horny for their own ascension."
"The people that are running for mayor ... I don't see myself in that crowd," he said while he interviewed director Stephen Daldry on "Here's the Thing" for WNYC public radio.
"They are like a guy on a date that you can tell he just can't wait to get his hand up your blouse before even the lights go out in the theater," the 53-year-old actor said.
"They're all just so horny for it, horny for their own ascension," Baldwin continued.
The outspoken actor and longtime political activist has flirted with the idea of running to replace the city's current mayor, Michael Bloomberg, when he finishes his third term in 2013.
"I doubt it now. The older I get the more I feel that all of it has changed," he explained.
"I've got a job now … We have fun, and it's a family and I love New York and I've got a life," he said about his starring role as Jack Donaghy on the NBC sitcom "30 Rock."
"Give this up for what? I give up money and fame and position and success, I give up this wonderful life I have now in exchange for the chance to really change things. Yeah, I'm not quite sure you can anymore," he added.
