Rainey Qualley golden globe

Rainey Qualley golden globe - The Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) has selected actress/musician Rainey Qualley as Miss Golden Globe 2012 for The 69th Annual Golden Globe® Awards. HFPA President Dr. Aida Takla-O'Reilly made the announcement this evening at 'A Night of Firsts,’ the first party of the 2012 Golden Globe Award Season, hosted by the HFPA and InStyle. The star-studded event was held at Cecconi’s in West Hollywood and was presented by FUZE®.

Chosen by the HFPA, Miss Golden Globe is traditionally the child of a well-known celebrity and assists during the Golden Globe Awards ceremony. The 69th Annual Golden Globe® Awards will air LIVE coast-to-coast on Sunday, January 15, 2012 on NBC from 5:00-8:00 p.m. (PST)/8:00-11:00 p.m. (EST) from the Beverly Hilton Hotel with host Ricky Gervais.

Daughter of Golden Globe nominated actress Andie MacDowell and Paul Qualley, she is looking at a very bright future. Qualley is awaiting the release of her first feature; an independent film called “Mighty Fine” starring Chazz Palminteri and her mother, Andie MacDowell.

While attending Belmont University, Qualley performed in “Thoroughly Modern Millie” and “Swing!” She went on to study acting at the Maggie Flanigan School and studied at RADA for a summer where she portrayed Silvia in “Two Gentleman of Verona.”

Qualley is also embarking on a musical career. She is currently writing songs and working towards her first album.

Previous Miss/Mister Golden Globe honorees include Rumer Willis (daughter of Demi Moore and Bruce Willis), Laura Dern (daughter of Diane Ladd and Bruce Dern), Joely Fisher (daughter of Connie Stevens and Eddie Fisher), Melanie Griffith (daughter of Tippi Hedren), Freddie Prinze Jr. (son of Freddie Prinze), Mavis Spencer (daughter of Alfre Woodard and Roderick Spencer) and last year’s Miss Golden Globe Gia Mantegna (daughter of Joe Mantegna).
