A Twitter-loving mother reportedly named her newest bundle of joy Hashtag Jameson, according to a viral photo sweeping the Internet.

“Hashtag Jameson was born at 10 oclock last nite. She weys 8pounds and i luv her so much!!!!!,” says the Facebook photo’s caption, first captured by Awkwardmessages.com.

It remains unclear whether “Hashtag” is the infant’s actual legitimate first name – or if the picture is simply an ingenious hoax.

But many have taken to the 140-character platform to express both awe and disgust for the moniker.

“Apparently a mother has named her baby ‘Hashtag.’ There are so many reasons why that’s horrendous, I just don’t know where to start,” @EmmaTofi wrote.

“Growing up I wished my name wasn’t so boring and average, now I think of the baby named ‘Hashtag’ and I think ‘thanks mom, I love you,’” @sben3 wrote.

Even comedian Stephen Colbert weighed in.

“A couple has named their baby ‘hashtag.’ What a great name, said his siblings Lycos and http://Pets.com,” he tweeted.

This is far from the first time parents have turned to social media for naming ideas.

In February 2011, an Egyptian man named his daughter Facebook, in honor of the the role the website played in the Arab Spring.

That same year, a couple in Israel named their baby girl Like, after Facebook’s “Like” button.

“If once people gave Biblical names and that was the icon, then today this is one of the most famous icons in the world,” the father, Lior Adler, told the German Press Agency at the time.

“In our opinion it’s the modern equivalent of the name Ahava (Love). It’s just my way of saying to my fantastic daughter, ‘Love.’”
