Jennifer Garner Attended Denison University

Jennifer Garner attended Denison University, Jennifer Garner BFA Theater, Jennifer Garner Pi Beta Phi sorority, Jennifer Garner is an American actress who is married to another American actor, Ben Affleck. She first gained recognition in 2001 when she portrayed Sydney Bristow on ABC’s series, Alias. After catching her big break with this series, she went on to perform in several popular movies, such as Pearl Harbor, Ghosts of Girlfriends Past, 13 Going on 30, and Valentine’s Day. Her next film to be released in the USA is Arthur, in which she costars with Russell Brand and Helen Mirren. EDUinReview will now take a look at this talent actress’ education background.


Garner was born on April 17, 1972 in Houston, Texas. She was the second child born to Patricia and Bill Garner; she has two sisters, Melissa and Susannah. When Garner was four-years old, the family moved to Princeton, West Virginia. Garner began dancing when she was only three-years old and danced throughout her youth; however, she did not ever plan on becoming a classical ballerina.


Garner graduated from George Washington High School in Charleston, West Virgina. While in high school, Garner attended church every Sunday and followed her family’s conservative lifestyle, which included not wearing make-up and not being allowed to pierce her ears until she was 16-years old. In 1990, she moved to Ohio to attend Denison University. Originally, she majored in chemistry, but soon switched her major to drama and performed in many plays at Denison. She was also a member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority while in college. She graduated in 1994.

In 1995, Garner moved to New York City with plans of pursuing a theater career. She also appeared in several television shows, such as Spin City and Law & Order, in the late 1990s. Garner first made it to the big screen in 2001 when she played Ashton Kutcher‘s girlfriend in the comedy, Dude, Where’s My Car?. That same year, she signed on to star in the hit television show, Alias. She earned a Golden Globe in 2002 for Best Actress in a Television Series – Drama for this role; she went on to win four more of these awards during the show’s five seasons. Her first starring role in a film was 13 Going on 30 in 2004, followed by important roles in Catch and Release, The Kingdom, Juno, Ghosts of Girlfriends Past, and Valentine’s Day.

On a personal note, Garner married Ben Affleck on June 29, 2005, when she was three months pregnant with their first child. They now have two daughters, Violet and Seraphina.
